Budoucí Strappado workshop with Kinbaku Luxuria

Experience a focused and enriching two-day workshop dedicated to the art and technique of armbinders in Shibari. Designed for intermediate to advanced practitioners, this event offers a thoughtful blend of technical skill, aesthetic exploration, and safety awareness.

We’ll begin with the fundamentals: understanding how tension, structure, and rope pathways work together to create reliable, comfortable armbinders. You’ll learn how small adjustments in angle, friction, and wrap placement influence both stability and visual style. We’ll also look at how different body types, proportions, and mobility levels respond to various constructions, ensuring you can adapt your tying to the partner in front of you. Throughout, we’ll emphasize inclusive approaches and practical solutions for flexibility limitations, joint considerations, and posture differences.

As the workshop progresses, you’ll explore a wide range of armbinder and strappado variations. We’ll start with accessible forms that build confidence and gradually move toward more demanding expressions that require greater precision and body awareness. By examining each version closely, you’ll see how subtle changes in rope distribution can shift intensity, alter the emotional tone of a tie, or highlight different aspects of connection and expression.

Safety remains a core focus. Together, we’ll review essential anatomical landmarks, nerve pathways, circulation concerns, and common risk points specific to armbinders. This knowledge will support you in making informed choices that prioritize your partner’s well-being without limiting creativity.

Once the foundations are in place, we’ll bring everything into practice. You’ll have the opportunity to work with both grounded, floor-based applications and, for those ready and interested, suspension contexts that showcase the structural potential of armbinders. Guided exercises will encourage you to develop a keen eye for line, balance, and flow, helping you integrate armbinders into scenes or artistic work with confidence and intention.

By the end of the weekend, you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of how to craft armbinders that are technically sound, visually compelling, and responsive to the people you tie.
